FIVE FACTS FROM THE SOURCE (Embedded): Physical child abuse is "shaking, hitting, beating, burning, or biting a child" but many people only knew some of them. |
Many people believe there is only one type of child abuse and many people believe that it is just "physical abuse" when there are many other kinds. |
Sexual child abuse includes incest, who would of ever guessed that. |
The types of Child abuse is "Physical, emotional, and Sexual child abuse". |
Child abuse is Neglect; there are two different kinds of it, a pattern of failure for the child's physical needs, such as food, clothing, shelter, and medical care. |
A pattern of failure for the child's emotional needs, such as affection, attention and supervision. |
Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION): The Cacscc created a site for awareness of child abuse and to inform the world of child abuse. They are located in the Santa Clara County and they try to protect children from child abuse by posting a phone number to call on their website. They give tips on what to do if it is an emergency.
Credibility of Source:
Author or Site: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the site. What is the purpose of the site? Who funds the site? The purpose of the site is to inform and help children that are being abused. The Child Abuse Council of the Santa Clara County funds this website.
Attachment: Does the author or site have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative? For example, is it a cigarette business posting an article about the benefit of cigarettes, or is it a scientific community unaffiliated with the cigarette business?
The Author in this case it would be the Cacscc has no gain from writing this they are just trying to help the people in need in this situation.
Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?
This is not a bias site because there are no positive effects from child abuse only negative.
References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility? There are sites that the "author" is referring to which are other sites to make this a stronger argument.
Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?
I will use this source in my project by referring to the different types of child abuse so the people can be aware of the other types other than the main known one which is "physical child abuse"
